Gadgets, fixes and shared experience
We are pretty inventive and love to find a solution to a problem without spending any money or wasting any precious resources. There are also things that we encounter where we’ve had to nut it out ourselves but would have been far less frustrated had we known more in advance. So we thought it would be good to share our experiences in the hope someone may find it helpful and you might just have a laugh too.
Ian’s retrieval gadget
This is the gadget Ian made to retrieve his fountain pen that fell down under the decking where the ants live. It’s the two wardrobe poles lashed together with tape from the first aid kit braced with a lolly stick and topped with a cup. It worked very well.
Anne’s Coffee gadget
So what do you do when faced with instant coffee? Make a filter coffee gadget from a paper cup!

Hey presto, perfect filter coffee. Rinse and reused, lasted a couple of weeks.
